Peel and slice peaches to yield 1 1/2 cups.

Combine peach slices with 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 teaspoons flour, and 1/4 teaspoon lemon zest; toss and adjust sugar to taste.

Divide peach mixture into two buttered 1 to 1 1/2-cup ramekins or a 2-cup baking dish.

Mix oatmeal, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.

Cut in butter until crumbly, then add almonds if desired.
