Parmesan Stuffed Mushrooms

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325 F and butter a shallow baking dish.

Clean mushrooms, remove stems, and finely chop the stems.

Sauté mushroom caps in 3 tablespoons butter until tender, then set aside.

Sauté chopped stems, green pepper, and onion in 5 tablespoons butter until the onion is translucent.

Stir in breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper to the sautéed mixture and remove from heat.

Fill each mushroom cap with the breadcrumb mixture, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and arrange in the prepared dish.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the filling browns and cheese melts.
