Instructions

  1. Place asparagus, olive oil, water, and garlic in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Cook uncovered for 2 minutes, or until the water has almost evaporated.

  3. Toss asparagus, cover the pan, and cook for 1 minute.

  4. Uncover, toss again, then re-cover and repeat until the asparagus is crisp-tender, approximately 5 minutes.

  5. Stir in lemon juice, remove the garlic, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve hot, with shaved Parmesan if desired.
