Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F and butter a large baking sheet.

  2. Optionally remove bread crusts, then set bread aside.

  3. In a bowl, beat eggs with salt, sugar, milk, and vanilla; pour into a flat dish.

  4. Soak bread slices in the egg mixture, turning once, then transfer to the buttered baking sheet. Spoon any leftover mixture over the slices.

  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, flipping after 10 minutes to brown both sides.

  6. Serve immediately with melted butter and your preferred honey or syrup.
