Oven Pulled Pork Barbecue
A tender, seasoned pork shoulder is slow-roasted, then shredded and combined with a flavorful barbecue sauce.

Preheat oven to 450 F.

Combine salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground mustard. Rub this spice blend onto the pork shoulder in a roasting pan.

Roast pork for 1 hour, then remove from oven.

Reduce oven to 325 F. Pour apple juice and sprinkle chopped garlic over the pork. Cover pan tightly with foil and roast for 2 to 2 1/2 hours until tender enough to shred.

Meanwhile, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, onion, brown sugar, ground mustard, and garlic powder in a saucepan for the barbecue sauce. Bring to a boil, stirring, then simmer uncovered for 15 minutes until thickened.

Remove pork from roasting liquid, shred, and serve with the prepared barbecue sauce. Optionally, mix 1 cup of sauce into the shredded pork.
