Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 F and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

  2. Halve the tomatoes crosswise and arrange them cut-side up on the baking sheet, letting them touch.

  3. Lightly sprinkle the tomatoes with salt.

  4. Bake for 4.5 to 5 hours, or until they are dry and possess a soft, leathery texture.
