Oven-Braised Corned Beef With Beer Recipe

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 275 F.

  2. Rinse the corned beef brisket thoroughly under cold water to remove excess salt.

  3. Layer half of the sliced onions in a large Dutch oven, place the rinsed brisket on top, then cover with the remaining onions, peppercorns, allspice, and bay leaves.

  4. In a saucepan, bring the beer and beef broth to a boil, then pour the mixture over the brisket in the Dutch oven.

  5. Cover the Dutch oven and braise in the preheated oven for 4 to 5 hours, until the meat is tender.

  6. Slice the cooked meat and serve on a platter with vegetables, drizzling with braising liquid, strained if desired; offer extra gravy on the side.
