Oven Bag Turkey

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. Place an oven bag in a roasting pan; spray with cooking spray, add flour, and shake to coat.

  3. Arrange celery and onion in the bag.

  4. Remove neck and giblets from turkey, then pat dry.

  5. Combine poultry seasoning with half the butter.

  6. Lift turkey skin and rub the butter-seasoning mixture onto breast meat, then rub remaining butter on top of breasts and season with salt and pepper.

  7. Place apple slices inside the turkey cavity.

  8. Place turkey, breast-side up, in the prepared oven bag.

  9. Whisk apple cider and maple syrup, then pour over the turkey and into the cavity.

  10. Seal the oven bag and cut 6 half-inch slits in the top for vents.

  11. Roast until an instant-read thermometer reads 165 F (2-3 hours).

  12. Remove from oven and rest for 20 minutes before carving.
