Original Parker House Rolls

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Warm milk and water in a small saucepan.

Combine 1/3 of the warmed liquid with yeast; let sit 15 minutes until bubbly.

In a large bowl, beat remaining warm liquid with melted butter, salt, and sugar until dissolved.

Stir in beaten eggs and the yeast mixture.

Gradually add flour, beating until a soft dough forms, then stir in any remaining flour by hand if needed.

Knead dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour until doubled.

Punch down the dough.

Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness on a floured surface and cut into 3-inch rounds.

Brush each round with melted butter, fold in half, and lightly pinch edges to secure.

Arrange rolls in two greased 9x13-inch pans, cover, and let rise for 45 minutes until doubled.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Remove from pans immediately and brush with more melted butter.
