Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350F.
-
Warm milk to 105-115F. In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 teaspoon sugar; let stand 5 minutes until foamy.
-
In a stand mixer, combine flour, 1/4 cup butter, salt, orange zest, eggs, and the remaining 1/4 cup sugar. Add the milk mixture; beat on low for 1-2 minutes, then increase to medium-low and beat for 5 minutes until the dough is smooth.
-
Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 45-60 minutes until doubled.
-
While dough rises, prepare filling by combining orange marmalade, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1/3 cup melted butter.
-
On a floured surface, roll the risen dough into a 15x12-inch rectangle. Spread marmalade mixture over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
-
Roll up the dough jelly-roll style from the long side. Cut the rolled dough into 12 slices using unflavored dental floss, then place in a greased 13x9-inch pan.
-
Cover and let rolls rise 45 minutes until almost doubled.
-
Uncover rolls and bake 20-25 minutes until light golden brown. Remove and cool slightly.
-
While rolls bake, make glaze: In a bowl, combine cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Mix in powdered sugar and orange extract, then add orange juice to desired consistency.
-
Frost the cooled rolls and serve.
