Orange or Red Lentils With Tomato (Masoor Dal)

Instructions

  1. Start boiling 3 cups of water with the lentils in a saucepan.

  2. Add turmeric, salt, and green chiles, then cook for 15 minutes.

  3. Skim any foam from the surface during cooking.

  4. Stir in tomatoes and cook for 5 more minutes until a soupy consistency is achieved.

  5. In a small skillet, heat ghee over medium heat, then add cumin seeds until they sizzle.

  6. Pour the seasoned ghee over the lentils, then stir in fresh chopped cilantro.
