Old-Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 F.

Beat butter until creamy, then gradually incorporate 2 cups sugar, beaten eggs, milk, and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until fully blended.

Refrigerate the dough for 2 to 3 hours until well chilled.

Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Form 3/4-inch dough balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared sheets.

Flatten each dough ball with a buttered glass dipped in sugar, re-dipping the glass between cookies.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.

Transfer cookies to racks immediately to cool.
