Old-Fashioned Pork Chops and Cabbage

Instructions

  1. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, brown the seasoned pork chops in oil over medium-high heat on all sides.

  3. Core a head of green cabbage and cut it into 8 wedges.

  4. Reduce heat to medium-low, add the cabbage and additional salt, then cover and simmer for 1 hour.

  5. Continue simmering, stirring frequently, until the pork is falling apart and the cabbage is brown and wilted.

  6. Serve with bread and homemade applesauce.
