Instructions

  1. Start boiling water in a large pot for the ribs.

  2. Meanwhile, combine all basting sauce ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes; thin with 2-3 tablespoons of water if needed and set aside.

  3. Thaw ribs if frozen, then remove the membrane from the underside and trim any loose fat or meat.

  4. Place prepared ribs in the boiling water and parboil for 5 minutes; remove them to a baking sheet.

  5. Prepare the rub by mixing 1/3 cup brown sugar, salt, paprika, and 1 teaspoon white pepper, then apply thoroughly to all sides of the parboiled ribs.

  6. Preheat the grill.

  7. Place the beef ribs on the grill and cook over medium-low heat.

  8. Rewarm the basting sauce; once the ribs reach 165 F, begin basting and turning every 10 minutes until finished cooking, about 1.5 hours total.

  9. Remove ribs from heat and serve immediately.
