Instructions
-
Start boiling water in a large pot for the ribs.
-
Meanwhile, combine all basting sauce ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes; thin with 2-3 tablespoons of water if needed and set aside.
-
Thaw ribs if frozen, then remove the membrane from the underside and trim any loose fat or meat.
-
Place prepared ribs in the boiling water and parboil for 5 minutes; remove them to a baking sheet.
-
Prepare the rub by mixing 1/3 cup brown sugar, salt, paprika, and 1 teaspoon white pepper, then apply thoroughly to all sides of the parboiled ribs.
-
Preheat the grill.
-
Place the beef ribs on the grill and cook over medium-low heat.
-
Rewarm the basting sauce; once the ribs reach 165 F, begin basting and turning every 10 minutes until finished cooking, about 1.5 hours total.
-
Remove ribs from heat and serve immediately.
