Oatmeal Butter Cookies
A delicious and crisp heirloom recipe, these very buttery oatmeal cookies are quick to prepare.

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325 F.

Beat butter until smooth, then add both sugars and beat until fluffy.

Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.

Stir in flour, salt, cinnamon, and oatmeal; chill dough until firm.

Form marble-sized dough balls and place them on ungreased cookie sheets.

Flatten each cookie using a lightly greased, sugar-dipped glass, re-sugaring the glass between each press.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until light golden brown.

Cool cookies on sheets for one minute, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
