Instructions

  1. Rinse fresh raspberries, pat dry, and place them in a medium bowl.

  2. Sprinkle the berries with approximately 1 tablespoon of sugar per 6 ounces, adjusting for desired sweetness.

  3. Mash the berries thoroughly with a fork.

  4. Cover the bowl and allow the mixture to sit for at least 15 minutes until the sugar dissolves and forms a sauce.

  5. Taste the sauce, add more sugar if preferred, then serve as is or strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds.
