Instructions

  1. Line baking sheets with waxed paper.

  2. Combine 2 cups granulated sugar, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1/2 cup milk, 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1/4 teaspoon fine salt in a large saucepan.

  3. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring frequently, then boil for three minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in 3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats.

  5. Drop by spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets.

  6. Allow cookies to set at room temperature for about 45 minutes, or refrigerate for 15 minutes for faster firming.
