Instructions

  1. Line three baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, butter, milk, cocoa powder, and salt.

  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, and boil for 3 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat; stir in oats and coconut.

  5. Drop tablespoonfuls onto prepared sheets, pressing lightly into cookie shapes. Let cool for 30 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm.
