New York-Style Pizza Dough

Instructions

Combine water, yeast, sugar, and 1/2 cup flour in a bowl, stir, and let sit for 20 minutes until bubbly.

Incorporate olive oil, salt, and 2 more cups of flour, mixing until a loose dough forms.

Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface.

Knead dough for 10 minutes, gradually adding flour until soft, elastic, and slightly sticky.

Shape dough into a ball, place in a large oiled bowl, and coat the top with a few drops of oil.

Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Punch down dough, divide into 2 balls, place in plastic bags, and refrigerate overnight.

Before use, remove from fridge and allow dough to reach room temperature.
