Neapolitan Ice Cream

Instructions

  1. Combine milk and sugar in a medium bowl, whisk until dissolved.

  2. Whisk in heavy cream and vanilla extract.

  3. Churn the mixture for 20-25 minutes according to machine directions.

  4. Transfer 1/3 of the churned vanilla ice cream to an airtight freezer-safe container, spread evenly, cover, and freeze.

  5. Mix cocoa powder into another 1/3 of the churned ice cream in a large bowl.

  6. Spread the chocolate ice cream evenly over the vanilla layer, then return to the freezer.

  7. Stir strawberry topping into the remaining ice cream; add red food coloring for a deeper pink, if desired.

  8. Spread the strawberry layer evenly over the chocolate.

  9. Cover and freeze for at least 2 hours until firm, then serve.
