Instructions

  1. Preheat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.

  2. Assemble two sandwiches by placing three slices of American cheese between two slices of bread.

  3. Butter the outsides of each sandwich.

  4. Place sandwiches on the skillet, cover, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  5. Serve immediately.
