Moroccan Chicken Tagine With Chickpeas and Raisins

In a heavy-bottomed pot, combine chicken, onions, garlic, oil, butter, and all spices. Cover and cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes.

Add tomatoes, cilantro, and parsley; cover and continue cooking on medium heat, stirring occasionally, for another 20 minutes until a rich sauce forms. Adjust heat to prevent sticking.

Stir in raisins, chickpeas, honey, and ground cinnamon (if using), then add enough water to cover the chickpeas.

Cook for 10-15 more minutes, until the sauce thickens and chicken is tender.

Transfer to a platter; optionally garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve.
