Instructions

  1. Combine yellow lentils, vegetable broth, turmeric, cayenne, and salt in a large pan; bring to a slow simmer.

  2. Partially cover the pan and cook for 20-40 minutes, adding more liquid if a smoother consistency is preferred.

  3. In a separate skillet, sauté onion, cumin seeds, and clove in olive oil over medium heat until the onions are soft.

  4. Stir the sautéed onion mixture into the simmering lentils and continue to simmer for a few additional minutes.
