Mom's Basic Meatloaf
A classic ground beef meatloaf combines cracker crumbs, onion, and seasonings, finished with a choice of ketchup or barbecue sauce.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

In a large bowl, combine crushed crackers and milk; let stand for 2 to 3 minutes.

Whisk in the egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, onion, salt, and pepper.

Add ground beef to the mixture and blend well without overmixing.

Form the meatloaf mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.

Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

Optionally, spread more ketchup over the top 5 to 10 minutes before baking is complete.
