Mom's Basic Meatloaf

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine crushed crackers and milk; let stand for 2 to 3 minutes.

  3. Whisk in the egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, onion, salt, and pepper.

  4. Add ground beef to the mixture and blend well without overmixing.

  5. Form the meatloaf mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.

  6. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

  7. Optionally, spread more ketchup over the top 5 to 10 minutes before baking is complete.
