Instructions

Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.

Add dals and dry red chiles, toasting over very low heat until light brown.

Add sesame seeds, roasting until golden, then turn off heat.

Grind all roasted ingredients into a coarse powder using a grinder.

Transfer to a serving bowl, add salt and sugar, and stir to combine.
