Mississippi Breakfast Casserole With Sausage Patties

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Butter a shallow 2-quart baking dish.

Place torn bread pieces in the bottom of the dish, then layer with sausage patties, green onion, tomato, and cheese.

In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, seasoned salt (or Creole seasoning), black pepper, and paprika.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cheese layer.

Refrigerate overnight or bake immediately; if refrigerated, remove the casserole 30 minutes before baking.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the center is set.
