Mississippi Breakfast Casserole With Sausage Patties

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Butter a shallow 2-quart baking dish.

  3. Place torn bread pieces in the bottom of the dish, then layer with sausage patties, green onion, tomato, and cheese.

  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, seasoned salt (or Creole seasoning), black pepper, and paprika.

  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cheese layer.

  6. Refrigerate overnight or bake immediately; if refrigerated, remove the casserole 30 minutes before baking.

  7. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the center is set.
