Milanesa de Carne Recipe

Thinly sliced, breaded, and fried meat cutlets, known as Milanesas, are an Italian-influenced dish widely enjoyed across Latin America.

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl.

  2. Whisk eggs and water in a separate shallow bowl.

  3. Mix breadcrumbs with oregano, Parmesan, salt, and pepper on a plate.

  4. Dredge each steak in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.

  5. Dip the floured steak in the egg wash, then thoroughly coat with breadcrumbs.

  6. Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  7. Fry each steak 3 to 4 minutes per side, until crispy and cooked through.

  8. Serve warm with rice and chimichurri.
