Middle Eastern-Inspired Cheese Board Recipe

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.

  2. Combine Greek yogurt, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon za'atar.

  3. Scoop mixture into cheesecloth, knot tightly, and place in a mesh strainer over a bowl. Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour, drain liquid, then refrigerate 24-48 hours for desired firmness.

  4. Remove strained yogurt from cheesecloth and form 1-ounce balls. Place balls in a jar, cover with olive oil and 1 teaspoon za'atar, then refrigerate overnight.

  5. Slice each pita into 8 triangles.

  6. Combine olive oil and za'atar; brush onto both sides of pita triangles.

  7. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.

  8. Whisk together sesame paste, water, minced garlic, and lemon juice until smooth; season with salt and pepper.

  9. Pour tahini sauce and hummus into separate dishes for the board.

  10. Arrange pita chips, nuts, dried fruit, vegetables, pomegranate quarters, honey, marinated labneh balls, and any other cheese on the board.

  11. Provide napkins and small knives for serving.
