Mexican Coffee

A rich hot beverage blending freshly roasted coffee, chocolate, and cinnamon, prepared quickly for a comforting treat.

Instructions

  1. Brew 5 cups of water with 3/4 cup ground coffee and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon in a coffee maker.

  2. Simultaneously, in a small saucepan, gently simmer 1/2 cup whole milk, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/3 cup chocolate syrup, and 2 tablespoons brown sugar over low heat.

  3. Remove the milk mixture from heat, then combine with the brewed coffee and whisk in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

  4. Divide the beverage into 4 cups, topping with whipped cream and optional garnishes like cinnamon, chocolate shavings, or a cinnamon stick.
