Preheat the oven to 325 F and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, cutting corner flaps to fit.

Once slightly cooled, stir in vanilla extract, cayenne pepper, ground cinnamon, and cocoa powder.

Incorporate eggs one at a time into the butter-sugar mixture, mixing after each addition.

Whisk together flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt in a separate bowl.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
