Methi Paratha (Fenugreek Paratha) Recipe

A healthy Indian flatbread, Methi Parathas are flavored with fresh fenugreek leaves and served with chilled yogurt and pickle.

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, fenugreek, 1 tablespoon oil, cumin seeds, turmeric, red chili powders, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Gradually add water and knead to form a medium-soft, smooth dough; rest for 30 minutes.

  3. Divide the rested dough into golf-ball-sized portions, smooth them, then roll each into a 7-8 inch diameter circle on a lightly floured surface.

  4. Heat a griddle and cook parathas individually. Flip when small bubbles appear, drizzle oil on the cooked side, then flip again after 30 seconds to oil the other side. Cook until both sides are crispy and golden brown.

  5. Store cooked parathas in an insulated container with a paper towel to keep warm and prevent sogginess, or serve immediately.

  6. Serve warm with chilled yogurt.
