Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and lightly grease a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.

  2. Combine ground beef, grated onion, egg, oats, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, herb blend, and optional garlic in a large bowl; blend thoroughly.

  3. Loosely pack the meatloaf mixture into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 1.5 hours.

  4. While the meatloaf bakes, melt oil and butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

  5. Add mushrooms and sauté until tender, browned, and liquid evaporates; stir in flour until blended.

  6. Stir in beef stock and continue cooking until thickened.

  7. Add gravy browning sauce and Worcestershire sauce.

  8. Simmer uncovered, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes; season with salt and pepper to taste.

  9. Serve gravy over sliced meatloaf or in a separate bowl.
