-
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
-
In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; mix well.
-
Shape the mixture into 18 meatballs and arrange them on a foil-lined baking sheet with a rack.
-
Bake meatballs for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and an internal temperature of 165 F is reached.
-
Meanwhile, heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
Add crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes to the pan. Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
Transfer the baked meatballs to the sauce and coat them.
-
Set the oven to broil. Place hoagie rolls on a foil-lined baking sheet, then fill each with 3 meatballs, sauce, and cheese.
-
Broil sandwiches for 2-3 minutes, until the cheese melts. Serve immediately.
