Start boiling water in a large pot.

Peel and cut the boniato into large pieces.

Add the cut boniato to the pot, ensuring they are covered with water, and continue to bring to a boil over high heat.

Salt the water and cook for about 20 minutes until a knife easily inserts.

Drain the boniato thoroughly.

Return drained boniato to the hot pot. Add butter, pepper, and milk; mash until smooth.

Season with chile pepper and salt to taste; mix well.
