Mashed Potatoes and Rutabagas
Creamy mashed potatoes are enhanced with the earthy sweetness of rutabaga, seasoned simply with butter and spices.

Instructions

Start boiling salted water in two separate saucepans.

Cook rutabaga in one saucepan for about 30 minutes and potatoes in the other for 20-25 minutes, until tender.

Drain the cooked rutabaga and potatoes.

Puree or mash the rutabaga thoroughly, then mash the potatoes.

Combine mashed rutabaga and potatoes, then beat in butter, milk, pepper, and nutmeg.

Taste and adjust salt as needed.

Garnish with parsley if desired, then serve.
