Maple and Brown Sugar Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F (200 C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.

  2. Pat mini hot dogs dry; if using standard hot dogs, slice each into 3-4 pieces. Cut bacon into thirds.

  3. Wrap each hot dog piece with a bacon strip, secure with a toothpick, and arrange on the prepared baking sheet.

  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is browned.

  5. Meanwhile, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, mustard, optional sambal oelek or Sriracha, and black pepper in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring, then remove from heat.

  6. Transfer the baked hot dogs to a slow cooker. Pour the sauce over them, cover, and cook on low for 1 hour or on high for 30-45 minutes.
