Make Trinbagonian Roast Bakes

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.

Rub butter into the dry mixture.

Gradually add water to form a soft dough.

Knead the dough in the bowl for 2 to 3 minutes.

Rub oil over the dough and let it rest, covered, for at least 30 minutes.

After resting, knead dough for 1 minute, divide into 4 to 5 pieces, form balls, and roll into 3.5-inch circles.

Place the rolled dough circles on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned with a hollow sound when tapped.

Cool on a wire rack, then slice and serve.
