Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar in a large bowl, then whisk thoroughly.

  2. Cut small pieces of butter into the dry mixture using a pastry blender or your fingers until incorporated.

  3. Stir in buttermilk with a fork until the dough is just moistened and begins to hold together.

  4. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead briefly to form a soft ball, then pat it into a 3/4-inch thick circle and cut out biscuits.

  5. Arrange biscuits on a baking sheet, cover, and freeze; once solid, transfer them to a dated freezer bag for storage up to two months.

  6. Preheat the oven to 425 F and arrange frozen biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
