Low Sugar Apple Pie

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 F.

  2. Combine flour and salt in a large bowl, then cut in chilled butter.

  3. Gradually add ice water, mixing until a dough ball forms.

  4. Roll the dough into an 11-inch circle between two sheets of cooking spray-coated plastic wrap, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  5. Place the chilled dough into a greased 9-inch pie plate, pressing to form the crust and fluting the edges.

  6. Toss sliced apples with lemon juice in a large bowl.

  7. In a separate bowl, mix sugars and flour, then combine with the apples.

  8. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust.

  9. Distribute small butter pieces over the top of the filling.

  10. Bake for 10 minutes at 425 F, then reduce heat to 350 F and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
