Low-Fat Brownies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  3. In a separate medium bowl, combine oil, applesauce, vanilla, egg, and egg whites.

  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just blended.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes, or until the edges separate from the pan.

  6. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into 16 squares.
