Leftover Steak Pot Pie With Vegetables

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 F.

  2. Cook onion in butter in a medium saucepan until tender.

  3. Stir in flour and salt, cooking for 2 minutes while constantly stirring.

  4. Gradually add beef broth and continue stirring until the mixture is thick and bubbly.

  5. Mix in the leftover beef, peas, carrots, and parsley, heating until warmed through; adjust seasonings as needed.

  6. Pour the beef mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish.

  7. Roll out pastry dough to extend about 1/2-inch beyond the dish's top, then place it over the hot beef mixture.

  8. Cut several slits in the pastry for steam, fold the edge under, and crimp it around the dish.

  9. Brush the pastry lightly with milk.

  10. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
