Lazy Man's Barbecued Beef Brisket

A moist and smoky brisket, slow-roasted in the oven and finished on the grill with a barbecue glaze, offers a perfectly cooked piece of meat.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. Trim brisket fat, leaving a thin layer, then season with smoked paprika, pepper, and salt.

  3. Place onions in a roasting pan, top with brisket fat-side up, and roast uncovered for 1 hour.

  4. Remove pan, tightly wrap with foil, reduce oven to 325 F, and cook for 3 additional hours.

  5. Cool completely, then refrigerate the wrapped brisket overnight.

  6. To serve, reheat on a charcoal or gas grill for 15 minutes per side until warmed.

  7. During the last 5 minutes of grilling, brush with barbecue sauce for a glaze; slice thinly and serve with more sauce.
