Lavash Flatbread

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.

  2. Whisk flour and salt in a large bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat water, egg, and 1 tablespoon olive oil.

  4. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients, then knead the dough; add small amounts of flour if too wet.

  5. Divide the dough into two balls and let them rest, covered, for 30 to 40 minutes.

  6. Grease two un-rimmed cookie sheets with olive oil; place one dough ball on each and roll out as thin as possible.

  7. Brush the flatbreads with remaining olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt.

  8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until crispy and lightly browned.
