Instructions

  1. Combine yeast and water; stir until dissolved.

  2. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl.

  3. Gradually incorporate the yeast water and oil into the flour mixture, kneading until an elastic dough forms.

  4. Divide the dough into 10-12 pieces, cover, and let rest in a warm place for 1 hour.

  5. Heat oil in a large skillet, then sauté onions with pepper and cumin.

  6. Add ground meat to the skillet and brown, ensuring it's well mixed with the onions; let cool.

  7. Roll out each dough piece to 1/16-inch thickness, forming desired shapes.

  8. Place 1 tablespoon of the cooled meat filling onto the center of each dough piece.

  9. Fold and crimp the edges to securely seal the pastries.

  10. Fry the filled pastries until golden brown on each side for about 6-8 minutes.

  11. Drain on paper towels before serving.
