Korean Seaweed Soup (Miyuk Guk)

Instructions

  1. Rehydrate seaweed in a large bowl with water for 30 minutes.

  2. Drain the rehydrated seaweed, squeeze out excess water, and cut into 2-inch pieces.

  3. Sauté the seaweed in sesame oil in a soup pot over medium heat for 2 minutes.

  4. Add garlic and soy sauce, then continue sautéing for another 2 minutes.

  5. Pour in the stock, bring the soup to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 20 minutes or until milky.
