Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, sauté garlic in soy sauce and sesame oil over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.

  2. Add water and bean sprouts, then bring to a boil over high heat.

  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the bean sprout aroma is strong.

  4. For a spicy version, stir in red pepper powder 5 minutes before removing from heat.

  5. Optionally, add scallions or chives just before removing the pot from heat.
