Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.

  2. Combine all sauce ingredients, excluding the chicken.

  3. Marinate the chicken in the sauce for a minimum of one hour, preferably several hours.

  4. Brown the chicken on all sides in a heated cast-iron or heavy pan over medium-high heat, reserving the remaining marinade.

  5. Transfer the chicken to a shallow roasting pan and pour the reserved sauce over it.

  6. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, turning once and adding more sauce if desired.
