Instructions

Heat heavy cream and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until melted and simmering.

Stir in vanilla extract, then remove from heat.

Pour the hot cream mixture over chocolate chips in a medium bowl; let sit for 4 minutes to melt.

Blend the mixture with a spatula until smooth.

Refrigerate the mixture uncovered for 2 hours until firm.

Line a baking sheet with parchment. Scoop and roll the firm mixture into balls, then place on the sheet.

If desired, toss each truffle in a small bowl of cocoa powder until coated.
