Instructions

  1. Brown beef, pork, and lamb stew meat in olive oil over medium-high heat.

  2. Layer half the sliced onions in a slow cooker, followed by half of the browned meat, then sprinkle with half of the salt, peppercorns, allspice, and a bay leaf; repeat this layering process.

  3. Add 2 cups of water, cover, and cook in the slow cooker on low heat for 6 to 8 hours.

  4. Replenish with up to 1 cup of water during cooking if necessary.
