Karashi Mentaiko and Spinach Spaghetti Recipe

Instructions

  1. Start boiling water for spaghetti noodles. Cook spaghetti for 8 minutes or until al dente, then drain.

  2. Extract the cod roe from its sac, discarding the membrane.

  3. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat, melt butter, then sauté chopped onion until translucent.

  4. Reduce heat to medium, add cooked pasta, spinach leaves, and a dash of white pepper. Toss until spinach wilts.

  5. Remove pan from heat and mix in the cod roe until spaghetti is evenly coated. Alternatively, cook the roe over medium heat until pale pink if desired.
